The U.S. has (finally!) joined the rest of the civilized world in providing universal health care. So will it break the bank? Will the U.S. suffer from massive deficits? Can the U.S. recover from this gargantuan expenditure? Has such a projected deficit (over 12% of GDP) happened before? |

Wow,the U.S. went from a 28% deficit to a 4% surplus in only about 5 years from about 1942 to 1948? I wonder how they did that so fast? They must have increased taxes on a shrinking GDP. The U.S. needs to increase taxes and re-capture the income & corporate taxes not collected in the last 30 years.
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. needs to increase taxes ...
ReplyDeleteYour fellow Americans won't like that!
Why, won't that lead to socialism ??
P.S.
Canada, I understand, is a Socialist Country.
Come to think of it, most of Europe is Socialist.
